Scientific Advisory Board
Te Ira Kāwai - Auckland Regional Tissue Bank established its Scientific Advisory Board to provide scientific leadership, strategic advice and to review applications that it receives for the use of bio-specimens.
The board ensures that tissue banking activities are of the highest standard, and that these activities meet the expectations of the funders and relevant stakeholders.
The board leads the development of tissue banking practice with a focus on long-term benefit to patients.
The Scientific Advisory Board ensures that Auckland Regional Tissue Bank - Te Ira Kāwai incorporates tikanga Māori in acknowledgement of the Treaty of Waitangi and includes representation from mana whenua, the contributing institutions, and the community, along with strong clinical and scientific input from academia.
It reports to the Governance Advisory Board, and supports the Core Management Group (CMG) and Tissue Bank Manager.
Professor Cristin Print is the chair of the Scientific Advisory Board.
