Li Family Cancer Research Fellowships
To improve the understanding, diagnosis and outcomes for the treatment of cancer by funding the highest quality medical research.
Background
In September 2015, Auckland entrepreneur, Mr Liangren Li and his family, announced a record $10 million endowment fund to provide annual interest for investing in cancer research. The fund has established the grants and fellowships outlined below.
1. Li Family Cancer Research Project Grant
Purpose:
The purpose of the Li Family Project Grant is to improve the understanding, diagnosis and outcomes for the treatment of cancer by funding the highest quality medical research.
Value & Duration
The value of the Li Family Project grant is up to NZ $160,000 per annum to provide financial support to an outstanding researcher whose scientific field has the potential to contribute to the treatment of cancer. The total value of the Project grant is max $480,000 for three years.
Applications: The AAHA calls for applications on an annual basis.

2. Li Family Cancer Research Postdoctoral Fellowship
This grant is for $300,000 over three years designed to support a Post doctoral Fellowship and is granted annually. Applications are called for at the same time as the Project grant.
